Rapper Master P loses custody of children

Master P has lost custody of the four children under 18 that he has with Sonya Miller. It wasn’t because he was an unfit father, or deemed unstable-it’s because the rapper decided not to show up to court at all.

Sonya was given sole physical and legal custody of 9-year-old Mercy, 13-year-old Hercy, 14-year-old Italy, and 17-year-old Tytyana. Because he didn’t show up to court (and it’s unclear why), he will have to pay sanctions for being a no-show, and cover Sonya’s hefty legal costs, which are $75,000.

Despite the millions Master P is worth, Sonya claimed early on in their divorce/custody battle that she was on food stamps because he had left her with a whole lot of nothing. But both Master P and their oldest son, Romeo, tried to claim that she needed to get her life together and is on drugs.

By not showing up at court and defending your rights, things like this can happen.
