The reality show couple is on their way to officially parting ways.

“Flip or Flop” star Christina El Moussa filed for divorce from her estranged co-star husband Tarek six months after announcing their separation.

The 34-year-old mother cited “irreconcilable differences” for their split and asked for joint legal and physical custody of their two minor children. California is a no fault divorce state and does not required any spouse to find a fault with the other in order to file for divorce. This request that Christina has done is very interesting since there was some domestic violence that had been alleged earlier on in the initial split.  In fact guns had been alleged to have been apart of the  domestic violation altercation.  Also there were some mental health issues that Tarek had been going through that would sometimes put a damper on how the custody situation would normally play out in a contentious divorces such as theirs.   However, time has passed and it seems that Tarek and Christina have sifted out the custody situation.  There have been numerous pictures taken with Tarek and his children and the past erratic behavior seems to be just that.

Additionally, she requested spousal support from Tarek and asks that his spousal support request be terminated as well as that he pays for her legal fees tied to the divorce proceedings, the mag reports. This is another interested part of the divorce between Tarek and Christina.  It is unclear who had money prior to marriage or who was the bread winner during the marriage.  However, from a public perspective both were on television and both seemed to have equal rolls in the show flip or flop.  If she is requesting spousal support it is possible she earned much less than

Christina has been linked to a new romance with Doug Spedding since the split.Christina’s history with Doug is almost as complicated as his record; they first dated years ago — presumably pre-Tarek — to make his ex (another friend of Tracy’s) jealous; their plan appeared to work, as she apparently wanted Doug back after learning that he was living with Christina.

It was at that point that he allegedly kicked Christina out, reunited with his ex, and went on to have two kids with her. He then moved on with Tracy in 2012, after ending things with the mother of his children.

Tarek has not dated anyone publicaly since the split. He lamented about the difficulties of being newly single in an interview with Us Weekly.

“I haven’t been single in 10, 11 years, so it’s a new experience,” said El Moussa. “I like to go out in groups, to be honest. I don’t do too many one-on-ones. I have no idea what to look for in a girlfriend because I’m not ready.” It really doesnt matter if he is dating or not as far as the custody or divorce would go.  As long as any new girlfriend does not interfere with his parenting of the children he should be able to date anyone he feels he wants to.
